My daughter loves animals and has a dream to live on a farm someday. We are planning to visit our local farm this week for a tour so these farm animal movement cards came at a perfect time.

These farm animal movement cards would make a great addition to any sensory break or movement breaks you have planned in your day at school or home.

Each movement card includes a cute farm animal along with directions for the movement your child is to complete.

The movements include:

  • Strut like a rooster
  • Graze like a cow
  • Gallop like a horse
  • Roll like a pig
  • Peck like a chicken
  • Hop like a bunny
  • Waddle like a duck
  • Leap like a frog
  • Kick like a donkey
  • Pounce like a cat
  • Glide like a goose
  • Scurry like a mouse
  • Run like a dog
  • Walk like a sheep
  • Flap like a chick
  • Slide like a snail

There are no right or wrong ways to complete these movements. Your child can use their imagination to think and then perform how each animal would complete the action words on the cards.

These movement cards would be ideal for children ages 3-8 or preschool through 2nd grade.

Some ideas of where you can use these cards in your day would be:

  • Brain break activities
  • Transition activities
  • Occupational therapy or physical therapy games (used by a therapist in their session)
  • Physical education class
  • Kindergarten class movement break
  • Toddler movement group
  • A way to burn off excess energy once you get back to the classroom from another part of the school
  • Preschool brain break group
  • Indoor recess
