Do you have a specific bedtime routine in your house? For us, we always read some great bedtime books. The Precious Moments Little Book of Bedtime from Tommy Nelson will be one that I’m sure we will use for a long time to come!

Precious Moments Little Book of Bedtime

We also have the Precious Moments Little Book of Prayers which is the companion book to the Little Book of Bedtime. In the Little Book of Bedtime each page has a bedtime prayer along with a quote or scripture to go with that prayer. The famous Precious Moments figures are also throughout the book. My daughter is very much into dogs right now, so she was happy to see a “woof woof” picture included! :)

Here are some of the prayer topics included in Precious Moments Little Book of Bedtime.

  • The Happy Day
  • God Counts the Stars
  • Bath Time
  • Come Rest With Me
  • A Prayer for Tomorrow

This book is a padded board book, so it is great for the little ones in your home who may like to bend or chew on pages. Thankfully we are starting to get past a lot of that in our house!

  1. “please help mommy give my trains back” on the night he lost them for misbehaving.

  2. Jessica Medina says:

Quite honestly, I didn’t have a bedtime story. My kids and I read togethere during the day rather than at night.

  3. My favorite was always Sesame Streets Monster at the End of This Book. My children are not too fond of it though but the do humor me and let me read it to them once in a while.

  4. Ooh… that’s a hard one. I was never much for bedtime stories. I liked to be sung to. My grandpa started the tradition of singing “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and rubbing a child’s back until they fell asleep. My dad would do the same when I was very young, and so would my Grandpa when we lived with him for a while. =)

    • Oh, and I’ve passed on the singing, but not the rubbing of backs – my first was INCREDIBLY ticklish, and never went for it. My second was a slight bit less ticklish, and by the time #3 came along, I was used to just singing!! =D

  5. Lauren Mulford says:

We didn’t have a bedtime story. But my parents always sang us the same song. “Jesus. Oh there’s something about that name”

  6. My favorite stories were Dr. Seuss books. Cat in the Hat.

  7. I don’t remember a bedtime story specifically, but I always liked the Sesame Street book My Day at Play Group. :)

  8. I LOVED Poky Little Puppy. My boys would rather hear about trains or the Incredibles :)
